Hey friend, I’m so glad you’re here.

What if life had less anxiety, and more white space? Less discouragement, more hope and encouragement for the day (and days) ahead?

We’d see more movement that leads to breakthrough, and less spinning our wheels in frustration. Less destructive thoughts and patterns, more wholeness.

And we’re finding those things as we abide with Jesus — because He has the wisdom we need for the crazy seasons we’re in.

You’ll find a lot of content here about purpose, identity, and finding peace in the middle of the mayhem. You’ll hear the phrase deep and wide frequently because God is always growing us upward, outward, and inward. And you’ll probably laugh at me (or with me) a lot, because occasionally I can be hilarious. At least, dozens think so. DOZENS.

I’m the author of these guys:

A lot of my writings (and a couple of those books) are available in audio here. It’s pretty simple, no fancy intro/outro music, just me reading the words the Holy Spirit prompted me to write.

This season is precious. I don’t ever post anything of a “filler” variety just to get something out there that wastes time for either of us.

Usually I publish about one post per week. Premium subscribers receive exclusive content a couple times a month, plus access to my audiobooks, a private monthly Q&A, audio of the most impactful newsletters from the archive, and tons of gratitude from our family.

Personal stuff? We’re an Alaskan, homeschooling family of ten. Our family expanded by two kids through the challenging miracle of adoption in 2012, and two more little boys followed in 2015 and 2018 (yes, we know how that happens, and we like it). A few of our kids have multiple special needs and we know the hard road of broken parenting with kids from hard places who make hard choices. I don’t gloss things over and you won’t catch me pretending that everything is perfect.

My husband, also a writer, saved me from a life of being That Crazy Cat Lady (I’m still tempted, though) and several other things. I don’t do it all, I’m not supermom, and I don’t even know how to change the ink in the printer. For reals.

We minister through words and prayer and watch God’s hand move. We laugh often, usually at ourselves and each other.

We are committed to loving our kids wildly and inspiring them to be world changers. We pursue maturity, humility, wisdom, and hope, convinced that we are a battleship, not a cruise ship.

I left most of Big Tech’s social media a couple of years ago, but you can find me on Telegram, Truth Social, Gab, and Goodreads.

And hey, Guerra sounds like gair-uh, in case you were wondering. Any other questions? Need prayer for something? Contact me here.

In joy,

Shannon
